confirmation-300In preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, the Religious Education team has developed a 2 year program.  The children can participate in the program while in the 7th grade, but cannot have the Sacrament of Confirmation until the child is in 8th grade.  While participating in the program, the children can expect detailed studies about the Mass, the consecration of the Blessed Sacrament, in depth teachings on the sacraments, growth in their Faith and to become a mature Catholic.  Attendance is required for 2 consecutive years.  Attendance at Mass is also a requirement and students should not miss more than 3 classes during the calendar year.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is the second of the three sacraments of initiation because, historically, it was administered immediately after the Sacrament of Baptism. Confirmation perfects our baptism and brings us the graces of the Holy Spirit that were granted to the Apostles on Pentecost Sunday.
