Parishioners of St Edward are invited to get involved in our parish in many ways.

Volunteer Opportunities at St Edward Catholic Church:

Opportunities that you may find personally and spiritually rewarding

Sunday Worship

"Put yourself at the disposal of the Church. It needs you. You are its future." - Saint John Paul II

Altar Servers: Assist the priests and deacons during the Mass or liturgical service.  Boys and girls 9 yrs. and older; young adults

Eucharistic Minister: Assists bishops, priests and deacons in distributing the Body of Christ and the Precious Blood.

Lectors: A person with the talent of proclaiming clearly and intelligibly the Holy Scripture in the celebration of the Eucharist and other liturgies where the word of God is proclaimed.

Music/Choir: Choir and musicians sing and play at weekend Masses and for special occasions. At present a variety of choirs are available; .... Other opportunities to sing include Spiritual Events (i.e. prayer services) and High Holy Day Celebrations.

Ushers/Greeters: Assist in seating parishioners at mass; take up collection and distribute bulletins before and after Mass; welcome/facilitate physical needs of parishioners.

Altar Linen Care: Care and maintenance of altar linens and sacristy items.

Faith Formation

Adult Faith Formation: provides a variety of experiences for education and faith formation.

RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process of welcoming new members into the Catholic Church. It is for those men and women who have not been baptized, received First Eucharist or Confirmation in the Catholic Church. Its main purpose is to assist prospective Catholics in their journey to become active members of the church. Meets ----.

Children’s Faith Formation: From kindergarten through eighth grade; preparation for sacraments of First Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation; develops Catholic and Christian faith through ongoing education. Meets on ---.

Ignite: teens....


St. Vincent De Paul Society: An international Catholic lay organization that leads women and men to join together to grow spirit offering themselves to the poor. The core of Vincentian spirituality is seeing the face of Jesus in the faces of those in need. Volunteers make home visits to the poor, or work at the St. Vincent Center, or both.
