Deacon Mario Ganuza

       Deacon Mario Ganuza was ordained to the permanent diaconate of the Archdiocese of Miami in December 2008.  He and his family have been members of   St. Edward parish since they moved to the area in 1996, and his spiritual growth is linked to our parish.  Before his ordination he was involved in our parish Cell System ministry, and at his home was born the first Spanish Cell, which multiplied to the vibrant group of Spanish Cells that we have today.  He was also involved in the Baptism Preparation ministry, as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist and as a lector, and in our annual Life in the Spirit Seminar.
       His deaconate and current ministry service are then a natural evolution of his Christian journey.  In his private life, he is bilingual English-Spanish and holds a B.S. in Engineering and an M.B.A. in Finance.  He is already retired after making a career as international consultant in strategic development for non-profit organizations.  He has four children and is married to Lilly who is also active in church ministry.
